Welcome to the Yardzen community! You’ve taken the exciting first step toward transforming your outdoor space. Whether you’re reimagining your front yard, backyard or entire property, we’re here to guide you through every step of the design experience. 

Here’s exactly what to expect in the coming weeks as we bring your vision to life.

Immediately after purchase you’ll receive a welcome email with a link to your Dashboard, where you’ll:

• Track progress and communicate with your team
• Complete your style and space questionnaire 
• Find instructions for uploading photos and videos of your existing space

Pro tip: The more photos you share, the better. Include wide shots, problem areas, drainage issues and anything you love (or want to change) about your current yard.

Your Kick-Off Call

If you purchased our Classic, Signature or Premium package, you’ll have a scheduled kick-off call with your Project Manager during your first week, or as soon as you’re available. This 30-minute conversation is your opportunity to:

• Share your vision and priorities
• Discuss your budget for installation
• Ask questions about the process
• Clarify any unique challenges with your space
• Learn how your Project Manager will help you source competitive bids when you’re ready to build

Your Project Manager will be your partner throughout the entire journey, from design through installation planning.

Essential package clients: While you won’t have a kick-off call, your designer will review all your submitted information carefully and may reach out via email with clarifying questions.

This is where the magic happens. Your designer is now creating your custom design based on everything you’ve shared. During this time:

• Your designer may reach out with clarifying questions
• You’ll receive updates as your design progresses

Remember: your designer is considering water, sun exposure, local climate and plant hardiness zones. All the technical details that ensure your design isn’t just beautiful, but functional.

The moment you’ve been waiting for! You’ll receive an email notification that your design is ready in your Dashboard. Your package includes:

All Packages Receive:

• 2D scaled design layout
• Detailed plant list with sizes and quantities
• Curated hardscape and materials specifications

Additional Deliverables by Package:

• Classic: Adds photorealistics design rendering and furniture and decor selections.
• Signature and Premium: Adds photorealistic design renderings and nighttime views/ lighting plan, furniture and decor selections.

Classic, Signature, and Premium packages include built-in revision rounds:

• Classic: 1 revision round
• Signature: 2 revision rounds
• Premium: 3 revision rounds

Essential package clients: While revisions aren’t included in your package, you can purchase a revision round for $195-$295 if you’d like to make changes to your design.

Pro Tip: When requesting revisions, be specific about what you’d like changed. “I’d like to see a more colorful bloom here” is more helpful than “I don’t love the plants.”

Once your design is finalized, you’re ready to bring it to life. Here’s where the Yardzen advantage really shines:

Your Project Manager will source competitive bids from vetted contractors in the Yardzen Pro Network. 

Here’s how it works:

• With your permission, your Project Manager shares your design with vetted contractors in your area.
• You schedule time with contractors to visit your property for a site walk.
• After the site walk(s), contractors submit detailed bids to you. You receive multiple competitive bids to compare.
• Together with an expert Yardzen Cost Advisor, your Project Manager helps you evaluate bids and make the best choice.
• You decide whether to build all at once or in phases. Your Project Manager will help coordinate either approach.

Yardzen isn’t just a referral service. Your Project Manager actively manages the bid process to ensure you get competitive pricing from contractors who understand our designs and quality standards. Also, you own your design and are under no obligation to hire a Yardzen Pro Network contractor. 

How long does the entire design process take? 

Most designs are completed within 2-3 weeks from kickoff, depending on your package and how quickly you provide necessary information.

What if I want to install in phases? 

Your Project Manager can help coordinate phased installation with contractors, getting separate bids for different sections or elements of your design.

How does the contractor bidding process work? 

Your Project Manager handles the heavy lifting, sending your design to vetted contractors and helping you compare bids apples to apples. You maintain full control over which contractor to hire.

Can I upgrade my design package after purchase? 

Yes! You can upgrade your package to include additional parts of your yard, or expand scope with a Premium package. Contact your Project Manager or reach out to hello@yardzen.com to discuss options.

How long do I have access to my design? 

Your design lives in your portal indefinitely. You can access it anytime for reference during installation or future updates.
